Mr. Hinkle is a native of Dayton Ohio. He relocated to Florida in 1967 to attend Florida Atlantic University and graduated from FAU in 1969 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting. He fulfilled his military obligation by enlisting in the US Army in 1969, and after graduating from Officer Candidate School, served as a Lieutenant in the Artillery Branch in posts in the U.S. and Vietnam.
His work experience included that of a staff and senior accountant with Coopers & Lybrand. Along with a colleague from Coopers & Lybrand, he started the firm of Hinkle & Richter in 1979, where he has been a partner since that time. Mr. Hinkle’s duties include that of the tax partner, specializing in tax preparation, tax planning, and overall administration of the firm. Mr. Hinkle is also a Certified Financial Planner, and assists clients in financial planning and investment management projects.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Financial Planning Association. He has served on state committees of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
As a Rotarian, Mr. Hinkle is a past President of the Rotary Club of Pompano Beach, a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, and a Benefactor. He has also been the Treasurer for Rotary district 6990. He is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pompano Beach, past President of the Board of Trustees, and past President of the First Presbyterian Foundation and he continues to serve on its board.
Mr. Hinkle lives with his wife of thirty years in Lighthouse Point. They have two adult sons.
