Christopher L. Root, CPA, CVA

Chris is a native Floridian. He received his Bachelor's in Accounting from the University of Florida in 1993 and a Master's degree in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University in 1998.

Chris is a Certified Public Accountant and provides accounting, tax, audit, business valuation and consulting services to individuals, businesses, not-for-profit organizations, common interest realty associations (HOA Homeowners Association/Condominium Association), estates and trusts.

Chris has primary experience in the following industries: professional services, general service businesses, nonprofit organizations, subcontractors, healthcare, wholesale/distribution, real estate developers, real estate operators, and common interest realty associations (HOA/Condominium).

In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant, Chris is also a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and has been providing business valuation and consulting services since 2002.

Chris joined Hinkle, Richter & Rhine in 2010. Prior to joining Hinkle, Richter & Rhine, Chris was a Senior Manager with CBIZ Goldstein Lewin in Boca Raton. His career with CBIZ started in 1995 when the firm was Schmidt, Raines, Trieste, Dickenson & Adams which became a part of CBIZ in approximately 1999. CBIZ is one of the top ten accounting firms in the country.

He is a member of the following professional organizations:

  • American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)
  • Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA)
  • National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA)

 

Chris was the recent Treasurer for Boy Scouts of America Pack 224 in Lake Worth, Florida. He also served for many years on the board of Spirit of Giving Network, most recently as President. Spirit of Giving Network is a South Florida based nonprofit organization that helps other nonprofits with a focus on children and families. Chris is also on the School Board for Spanish River Christian School in Boca Raton. He is also a rotating and former deacon at Spanish River Church in Boca Raton, a presenter in the Money Management Ministry series for the church and he also counsels individuals, couples and business owners in the community on financial and budgeting matters. Chris has also coached youth basketball in the Upward league in Boca Raton. Chris is also part of the AICPA Mentoring program as a mentor which helps young professionals grow and develop in their careers.

 

Chris lives in Lake Worth with his wife and their daughter and son.
